State & Federal Election Information (even years)

This page contains information and resources to help you understand the various opportunities for state and federal elective office in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Your regional or local Green Wave representatives can also give you more information on your specific elective offices.

The following offices will be elected in 2020. Please click on the name of the office below for more information.

In 2020, state filing deadlines for ballot access are as follows:

  • February 19th, 2020 - first day to circulate nomination papers

  • April 28th, 2020 - PRIMARY ELECTION (for Republicans/Democrats, Pennsylvania is closed primary state) - a key day for collecting signatures!

  • August 1st, 2020 - deadline to submit nomination papers to the state Board of Elections

  • October 6th, 2020 - last day to register to vote in the 2020 general election

  • November 3rd, 2020 - ELECTION DAY!

Other deadlines (such as campaign finance reports) may be applicable depending on the office you are running for. The number of signatures required on your nomination petition and the cost of the filing fee depends on which office you are running for.
